Senior Apparel Designer (Endura)

Pentland Brands
London

We’re Pentland Brands; a dynamic, global family business, and proud owners and licensees of many iconic active and footwear brands. With a community of over 1,300 team members worldwide, we embrace diversity and inclusion, and champion growth and development. Our success is built on teamwork, courage, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?

The Senior Apparel Designer plays a pivotal role within the Product Creation team, ensuring that every garment meets the highest standards of fit, function, construction, and quality. Working closely with Design, Product Management, Development, and global sourcing partners, this role translates creative concepts into fully executable technical packages that are accurate, production-ready, and aligned with brand intent.

The mission is to elevate product excellence through expert technical leadership - driving consistency, efficiency, and innovation across the apparel creation process.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?

As our Senior Apparel Designer you will be responsible for:

  • Owning the technical design process from concept through to production readiness, ensuring all specifications, patterns, and construction details deliver on fit, function, and brand standards.

  • Creating and maintaining detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction methods, BOM accuracy, and graded specs.

  • Leading fit sessions with cross-functional teams, providing expert guidance on pattern corrections, construction improvements, and product optimisation.

  • Collaborating closely with Product Development, Design, and Sourcing teams to ensure technical feasibility, cost effectiveness, and manufacturing accuracy.

  • Providing technical leadership across categories, ensuring consistency of fit blocks, grading rules, and construction standards.

  • Reviewing prototypes and samples at all stages, ensuring alignment to design intent, performance goals, and commercial requirements.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges throughout the development lifecycle with vendors and internal partners.

  • Driving continuous improvement in technical processes, tools, and standards to advance product quality, speed, and efficiency.

WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE?

To stand out in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in technical design or garment technology within apparel — ideally performance, sports, outdoor, or activewear.

  • Expert understanding of pattern-making, grading, fit standards, apparel construction, and manufacturing methods.

  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to translate creative ideas into precise, actionable specifications.

  • Proficiency in digital pattern tools and PLM systems; experience with 3D design is a strong advantage.

  • A collaborative mindset, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and vendors in a fast-paced creation environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to product quality and consistency.

  • Ability to manage multiple categories and timelines, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on technical execution.

  • Passion for apparel craftsmanship, innovation, and delivering best-in-class product experiences for consumers.

We want you to live our company principles, bringing a strong consumer focus, while always looking for ways to improve and grow in your role. Take ownership of your work and be proactive in solving problems whilst communicating openly and treating everyone with respect and kindness. And, of course, let your creativity shine by bringing your unique style and individuality to the Pentland Brands Team.
