Behavioural/Cultural Analyst
Are you fascinated by human culture and behaviour? Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for brands, innovation and consumer behaviour? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Behavioural Analyst in London.
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic close-knit team focused on revealing the “why” behind consumer behaviour. You'll be driving the research and analysis on exciting projects, collaborating with brilliant people, and delivering impact for clients like Nike, Google, Lego, Mindshare and Universal Music. If you're smart, nice, open-minded and passionate about people and business, we want to meet you!
About us
We are Canvas8, a strategic insights practice operating out of London, NY, LA, & Singapore. We help our clients understand people so they can make better business decisions.
Our work is about investigating the hidden insights in everyday life – from the psychology of boredom to teenage make-up rituals to why Barbiecore is a Gen Y thing – and making them meaningful for brands. Our team is a blend of different disciplines and skills – from psychology to journalism, and anthropology to behavioural economics. What unites them is a desire to understand people and a passion for delivering outstanding work.
About the role
We’re looking for a strategic thinker and researcher, but we’re not prescriptive about what that means. From psychologists to journalists to behavioural economists, our team doesn't fit in a box – what unites them is a desire to understand people. We call them behavioural analysts.
As part of the analyst team, you’ll be researching cultural, social and technological shifts, as well as changes in industry. The research is incredibly varied. One day you might be speaking to a scientist about the psychology of doom scrolling, the next you might be pouring over data to discover why teenagers have stopped playing sports.
You’ll need to be street smart and willing to get your hands dirty – designing surveys, pouring over data, identifying significant patterns, analysing shifts in society, and writing under tight deadlines. You’ll need to excel at analysing data and problem-solving, have a great awareness of cultural trends, and be emotionally intelligent and a superb writer.
It’s hard, but stimulating, work – and your effort will be instrumental in helping Canvas8 inspire the world’s best brands, agencies, and organisations.

About you
You’ll be genuinely interested in the world around you, with an ability to quickly understand diverse cultures and distil complex ideas into clear, lively prose. You’ll have the entrepreneurial flair, organisational skills, resourcefulness, and initiative required to work both quickly and accurately within our ambitious team, and a willingness to get stuck in.
You’ll be a lateral thinker with an eye for spotting patterns and cultural shifts across multiple industries. Articulate and confident, you will have engaging written skills and a broad grasp of research processes and cultural trends. This is a fast-moving, progressive environment, so open-mindedness and a good sense of humour will be essential.
