- Location: Roehampton, South West London
- Salary: Up to £135 per night (£130 base + £5 daily bonus)
- Schedule: LIVE-IN, 3 WEEKS ON / 3 WEEKS OFF – WAKING NIGHTS
Are you a dedicated carer who prefers a stable, supportive team environment and is comfortable with a long-term live-in rota?
We are immediately hiring a compassionate and experienced Waking Night Live-In Carer to join our established team in Roehampton. This highly structured role is essential for maintaining the safety and well-being of a resident with learning disabilities and epilepsy.
This is a dedicated waking night position. You must be prepared to stay awake throughout the night, monitoring our client via a screen monitor. While the role is generally low-activity, your presence is crucial for immediate response to any needs or emergencies.
The role
You will be part of a close-knit, highly professional team of Live-In Carers, supported by a dedicated Team Leader who visits often to offer guidance and support. You'll also work closely with the House Manager.
The rota is fixed at 3 weeks on-shift followed by 3 weeks off-shift, providing an excellent work-life balance and a reliable schedule.
Key responsibilities:
- Dedicated Waking Night Monitoring: Remain awake and alert throughout the shift, primarily monitoring the client via a visual screen/monitor
- Immediate Response: Respond calmly and effectively to any overnight needs, incidents, or emergencies, particularly those related to epilepsy
- Medication Management: Assist with administering required night-time medication.
- Day Team Support: Provide 2 hours of essential break-cover support to the day-time carers
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, clear, and concise overnight records and provide comprehensive handovers to day staff and your Team Leader
Your experience:
You must have previous, proven professional experience in the following areas:
- Learning Disabilities: Experience supporting adults with diverse learning disabilities
- Epilepsy Management: Experience with monitoring, safety protocols, and responding to seizures
- Waking Night shifts, demonstrating strong reliability and observational skills
- Supporting individuals with Autism and communication difficulties
What we offer you:
- Highly Supportive Structure: A genuine team environment with clear direction from a dedicated, often on-site Team Leader and House Manager
- Excellent Rota: A stable, reliable 3-weeks-on / 3-weeks-off schedule
- Competitive Pay: Up to £135 per night
- Ongoing training and professional development tailored to the resident’s needs (e.g., advanced epilepsy training)
If you are an experienced and committed Live-In Waking Night Carer ready to join a supportive team in Roehampton, please apply today.
