Mini Bus Driver for learning disability charity – Due to the nature of the role, you are required to have a current enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply for one).

Hours: Flexible (after school, weekends, school holidays)

Rate of Pay: £14.00 per hour

Driver Hire London West is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an award-winning charity that has been supporting people with learning disabilities for over 60 years. We’re currently looking for a bus driver (Category D1 licence) to join their team in Harrow, providing safe and supportive transport for children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport children and young people (ages 5–25) between their homes and the charity centre in Harrow.
• Work alongside passenger assistants, promoting a calm and reassuring environment during journeys.
• Ensure the correct use of seatbelts, harnesses, and wheelchair restraints.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and keep the vehicle clean, safe, and roadworthy.
• Follow safeguarding policies and maintain accurate journey and incident records.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with children, families, and staff.

Requirements:

We’re looking for candidates who are dependable, caring, and committed to supporting children with additional needs. You will have:

• A full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (essential)
• At least 2 years’ driving experience
• A Paediatric First Aid certificate and MIDAS training are desirable (or a willingness to complete them).
• A current enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply for one).
• A calm and respectful manner.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to safety, inclusion, and professionalism.
