Summary:
The AVP IT Security Specialist, serving as the Information Security Regional Lead, plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization's information assets within the Financial Services, Banking, and Financial Market Infrastructure sectors. Based in London, this role focuses on developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data, aligning with the organization's objectives and industry regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage information security initiatives within the UK region.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop robust security policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor security systems and respond promptly to security incidents.
- Provide guidance on best practices for information security to internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop junior IT security staff.
- Perform operational triage for Data Loss Prevention (DLP), File Integrity Monitoring (FIM), Email Security, and Web Security.
- Identify and address potential vulnerabilities to enhance the organization's security posture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of security processes to counter evolving threats.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in IT security roles, preferably within the Financial Services or Banking sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS).
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
- Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., Email Security, Web Security, Data Loss Prevention, FIM).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in incident response and crisis management procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in managing security projects.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
