SEN Teaching Assistant - Lambeth
A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from the upcoming term. This SEN Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them to access learning and thrive within a structured and nurturing environment. As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Lambeth, you will work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional needs. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on pupil requirements. The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in helping pupils build confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
Daily responsibilities will include adapting learning materials, supporting behaviour regulation, and implementing personalised strategies to help pupils remain engaged. The SEN Teaching Assistant will also contribute to progress monitoring and feedback, working closely with teaching staff to ensure consistent support. This role suits someone who is patient, observant, and passionate about inclusive education.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have previous experience supporting children with additional needs within a school or similar setting. A calm and flexible approach is essential, alongside the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude are highly valued.
