New Opportunity: Managing Associate – Financial Regulation (Payments) – London
A leading international law firm is seeking a Managing Associate to join its Financial Regulation team in London, focusing on the dynamic Payments sector. This role offers the chance to work with a diverse client base, including FinTechs, banks, and technology companies, advising on all aspects of payment services and the underlying infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on regulatory aspects of payment services for both bank and non-bank PSPs and e-money issuers.
- Draft B2C and B2B agreements, assist with authorisation applications, and provide compliance support.
- Engage with clients on matters such as account-to-account payment solutions, issuer services, merchant acquiring services, open banking solutions, and digital currencies.
- Collaborate with the wider Financial Regulation team and support transactional teams as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years PQE within a Financial Regulatory team, with strong knowledge of payment services and experience working with e-money businesses.
- Familiarity with UK and European payment systems and experience advising clients on bringing new products and services to market.
- Ability to draft regulatory provisions related to commercial contracts; experience in corporate transactions or commercial contracts is advantageous.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and manage matters to conclusion.
- Proactive in business development and eager to grow and build a practice in the Payments sector.
