Senior Account Handler - Financial Institutions
Your new company
A leading international insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Senior Account Handler to support large, complex Financial Institutions accounts within a specialist operations function. This is a highly technical role focused on London Market administration, MRC slips, and complex tax schedules, working with some of the most high-profile clients in the sector.
Your new role
In your role as a Senior Account Handler, you will be responsible for the administration of high‑value and complex accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance and first‑class internal client service. You will work closely with client-facing teams to administer comprehensive account renewals and will ensure that all documentation, including tax schedules and regulatory requirements, is completed accurately and in line with London Market standards. You will be carrying out technical duties such as data entry, preparation of compliant Market Reform Contracts, quotes, indications and endorsements, consistently maintaining high standards of accuracy and service delivery. The role will also involve onboarding new clients, including the completion of due diligence checks and sanctions screening.
Your role will include collaborating with colleagues to manage and prioritise workload effectively, ensuring both individual and team objectives are met. A key part of the role will be providing specialist internal support on tax matters relevant to Financial Institutions placements, while ensuring compliance with current legislation and market practices. The role also involves handling enquiries from internal stakeholders, insurers and third parties, responding professionally and in a timely manner. You will also be expected to remain up to date with regulatory changes, tax requirements and London Market developments, ensuring all activities are conducted in line with applicable guidelines.
In addition, you will mentor and support junior account handlers, promoting best practice in relation to London Market protocols, slip production and large account management. You will build strong relationships with central service functions and senior stakeholders, understand escalation procedures, and take accountability for the timely provision of documentation as part of the overall client service proposition.
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience in insurance broking, account handling or insurance operations, ideally working with large and complex Financial Institutions or multi‑jurisdictional placements. You will have strong technical knowledge of the full insurance lifecycle, including London Market practices, slips and tax considerations. You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, particularly when dealing with internal stakeholders and presenting complex information clearly. Experience mentoring junior colleagues is highly desirable, as is professional qualification such as ACII or equivalent. You will be commercially aware, proactive in improving processes, resilient under pressure and comfortable adapting to change. Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft applications, electronic placing platforms and internal broking systems, are also essential.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £90,000 (D.O.E) and the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex Financial Institutions accounts in the market. You will join a collaborative, technically strong team within a global insurance environment that supports career development and continuous learning.
