Facilities and Safety Co-Ordinator

London

Help us to make a world of difference

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world.

We’re looking for Facilities and Safety Coordinator, to be based at our Paddington office in London. Reporting to the Security and Safety Manager as well as the Head of People & Culture, the Facilities and Safety Coordinator will be the first point of contact for staff wishing to report any facilities or safety issues. You will take ownership of incident reporting and preparation of all monthly reporting, ensuring that a strong safety culture is maintained within the office environment, and all relevant safety data is registered. Where issues have been investigated and cannot be personally resolved then you will decide when to escalate matters to our planned and reactive FM service contractor. You will also monitor the on-site cleaning and catering personnel as well as all other FM personnel visiting site, to ensure adherence to on-site safety and cleanliness standards.
This is a very engaging role, encompassing a range of facilities management activities, critically reviewing and providing input while working within the established facilities plan to achieve pre-established outcomes.

The role will require the individual to be both proactive and reactive in their approach to safety and FM, with a mindset to continually want to improve processes and be hands on with managing activities and being a first responder to on-site incidents.
A good Safety Culture is key at Urenco Limited and working to improve the safety culture and engagement of staff and contractors is key to the role. The role will make a pivotal contribution to success of Urenco Limited’s safety performance and therefore its wider business success.

*Please note, due to the nature of this role and the responsibilities, this individual will need to be on site 5 days a week and will also need to be able to react to any responsibilities, which will require actioning out of ours on occasion*

At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what were looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. Along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.

What you’ll do:

• Handle all daily operational FM issues and respond to staff queries and requests
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards, creating and practicing safe working techniques
• Perform a range of facilities management activities, critically reviewing and providing input while working within the established facilities plan to achieve pre-established outcomes.

• Work with the Security and Safety Manager as well as the Head of People & Culture to document information, risk assessments, minutes of the Safety Committee and compiling high level reports
• Being hands on and responding to issues as they occur and taking a methodical, triage-based approach before involving the external contractor for any repairs or any FM based activity
• Ensuring visitors and on-site contractors are fully compliant from a security and safety compliance perspective i.e. holding correct permits etc
• Ensure compliance to UK regulations and the Urenco Global Safety standards and processes
• Respond to any facilities or safety complaints and concerns raised by employees
