Your role is pivotal to our ambitions to truly ‘excel in payments’. You’ll lead a team to set the strategy in relation to Digital Assets and Currencies and ensure customers and our organisation is ready for this evolution. Your responsibilities will include developing domestic payment solutions to facilitate agentic commerce, establishing our UK strategy on digital assets and currencies, and executing this strategy both internally and through industry and regulatory interactions with the aim of driving safe, customer-centric growth of digital assets and currencies.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
In this role you’ll:
• Provide leadership that embeds our UK strategic ambitions while driving team engagement
• Act as a senior leader, role modelling leadership principles and ensuring alignment with our culture and values
• Build and maintain a high-performing team capable of articulating and executing a clear strategic vision
• Ensure talent and succession plans are effectively in place to support long-term objectives
• Cultivate an inclusive environment that reflects our brand and supports diverse perspectives and collaboration
• Engage with key industry bodies (e.g., BOE, UK Finance, FCA, HMT) to strengthen relationships and leverage market insights for strategic advantage
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Possess a deep understanding of digital Assets and Currencies. products, regulatory environments and technology requirements essential for scaling these assets for retail customers
• Ability to set strategic directions for the organisation, galvanize stakeholders beyond direct management lines and ensure effective delivery across the matrix
• Lead industry engagements to secure favourable outcomes across the Payments landscape, ensuring alignment with industry standards and expectations
• Build effective networks across business areas, fostering relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
• Present complex issues confidently and concisely to a diverse range of stakeholders, including executives and regulators, using simple language to ensure clarity and understanding
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in rapidly changing environments, effectively managing tasks that are restricted, unpredictable and wide-ranging
