Facilities & Hygiene Coordinator
Reports to: Client Experience Manager
Salary: £14–£18 per hour or £18,000 to £22,000 per annum depending on experience and employment status
Contract Type: Full-Time – Employed or Self-Employed considered
About Hopscotch Children’s Therapy Centre
Hopscotch is a leading multidisciplinary therapy centre supporting children and young people with neurodevelopmental differences, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing challenges, developmental delays, and speech and language needs. We deliver Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy in a warm, family-centred environment where clinical excellence meets compassionate care.
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and conscientious full-time Cleaner to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our specialist paediatric therapy centre. This is a client-facing environment where children and families attend daily, and a professional, respectful approach is essential at all times.
Working Hours:
- -Thursday: 10AM-12 PM
- -Monday to Friday 12PM-8PM
The later finish ensures thorough end-of-day cleaning once sessions have concluded, so the clinic is fully prepared for the following morning.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Hygiene
- Clean and maintain all clinical rooms, waiting areas, corridors, toilets, and communal spaces to a high standard throughout the day.
- Sanitise therapy equipment, surfaces, door handles, and high-contact points in line with infection control requirements.
- Carry out thorough end-of-day cleaning and preparation of all rooms ahead of the following day.
- Dispose of waste correctly, including clinical and general waste, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Operations & Safety
- Manage and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting stock needs to the operations team promptly.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops, and steam cleaners safely and effectively.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the operations team without delay.
- Carry out any additional cleaning tasks as reasonablyrequested by management.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a professional cleaning role, ideally within a healthcare, education, or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, materials, and safe handling procedures.
- Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards in a health environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time independently.
- Respectful and discreet when working in an environment with children and families.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
- Experience working in a children’s or clinical therapy setting.
- •Basic DBS check (or willingness to undergo one prior to commencement).
