Job Description:
We are seeking a Band 6 Locum Dietitian to join our team in London, specialising in Head and Neck Oncology. The successful candidate must be HCPC registered and have the right to work in the UK. This role involves providing dietetic support for both inpatient and outpatient services, including managing a shared inpatient ward with two other dietitians and conducting 2-3 head and neck outpatient clinics. The role may also include the opportunity to assist with parenteral nutrition (PN) if you are trained and interested. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic team, providing crucial dietary care to oncology patients.
What your responsibilities will be for this Dietetics role?
As a Band 6 Dietitian, you will provide comprehensive dietary assessments and interventions for patients with head and neck oncology conditions. This will include managing an inpatient ward in conjunction with two other dietitians and running outpatient clinics focused on head and neck oncology. You will develop and implement tailored nutrition plans to support patients’ treatment and recovery, addressing specific dietary needs related to their condition. Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams is essential to ensure holistic care. Additionally, if trained, you may be involved in providing parenteral nutrition support. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, participating in team meetings, and contributing to service development.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration as a Dietitian
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant degree in Dietetics or equivalent qualification
- Experience in dietetics with a focus on head and neck oncology
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Training and interest in parenteral nutrition (PN) is advantageous
