Assistant Finance Manager
Location: Covent Garden, London
Salary starting: Competitive salary
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. You will work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 17:30pm. This role will require you to be office based.
This role is a key member of the urbanest Finance team, responsible for delivering high-quality, timely financial information. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role sits within the finance reporting team, which is responsible for producing financial reporting for a portfolio of nine soon to be ten operational properties. This role will work closely with another Assistant Finance Manager and Assistant Management Accountant.
This role has primary responsibility for accounting, monitoring and reporting of revenue across the portfolio. This includes contributing to the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual operational property management accounts, supporting the sales and marketing team with budgeting and performance analysis. In addition, the role will partner with the development team on debt utilisation and cashflow management, and contribute to broader financial reporting, analysis and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual revenue for the operational portfolio of nine properties, including commercial analysis of variances to budget and reconciliation to nomination agreements with university partners.
Post all block booking and commercial revenue invoices into NetSuite.
Post income journals for non-student residential revenue, working closely with property managers and estate agents to ensure timely and accurate information is recorded.
Prepare monthly FloQast reconciliation schedules for to support monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
Produce and distribute weekly and monthly revenue collection reports, tracking against agreed recovery targets for the portfolio.
Prepare monthly management accounts for development properties, including WIP transaction review and loan interest accruals.
Prepare and post journals and complex accounting entries e.g. capital and debt drawdowns and property acquisitions.
Prepare presentation slides for the monthly revenue meeting with the Sales Team.
Collaborate with the Business Optimisation Team, providing insights and ideas for process improvements and supporting transformations within the Finance Team.
Assist with preparation of year-end audit schedules and respond to auditor queries.
Skills & Experience we're looking for
Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Experienced in preparing management accounts.
Able to work diligently, meet deadlines and collaborate effectively.
Comfortable using finance systems (experience with Oracle NetSuite desirable).
