Product Manager | Remote | Drive Product in Crypto Tax SaaS

Koinly
London

Build the future of crypto tax with a product people actually enjoy using.

Join us at Koinly and help millions of users save hours of tax-time stress—while working remotely with high levels of autonomy.

At Koinly , we do things a little differently.

We’re remote-first, async-first, and optimized for focused work — not meetings, micromanagement, or calendar chaos. Team members here enjoy deep ownership, real autonomy, and the satisfaction of building a product our users genuinely love.

We’re a bunch of curious go-getters, dead-set on solving hard problems with smart tools. No bloated hierarchies. No pointless meetings. Our team structure is flat and focussed and everyone plays a crucial role in Koinly’s success. If this resonates with you, read on!

About Koinly

Crypto taxes are confusing. We make them simple.

Since launching in 2019, we’ve helped over 1.5M users (crypto investors) track their transactions and stay tax compliant. by solving a highly technical problem that saves our users countless hours. From casual traders to seasoned pros, our platform handles thousands of data points per user and turns tax chaos into clarity in minutes, not hours.

The role

We’re looking for a Product Manager with a track record of shipping features end-to-end: from deep user research to edge-case handling, grooming, QA and launch comms, to help us shape the next chapter of crypto tax. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who’s strategic, technical, and passionate about crypto.

This is a high-ownership, hands-on role for someone who’s deeply technical, crypto-fluent, and has shipped product from scratch in fast-moving teams. You’ll work independently and lead small pods across design, QA, and engineering—while collaborating directly with our Founder on product direction.

🔍 Key details

  • Role: Product Manager
  • Location: Remote
  • Type: Full-time (contractor - B2B)
  • Experience level: Mid-Senior; +5 years of experience as PM
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Core requirement: Note: This role requires advanced crypto knowledge. You should be comfortable with LPs, DeFi flows, and on-chain mechanics—even if you’ve explored these as a hobbyist.

What you'll do:

  • Solve user problems through research and data: Gather and analyze user feedback, investigate the user journey, and identify issues and opportunities at scale.
  • Ensure technical quality : Dig into transaction data and edge cases, support debugging, and work with developers to improve reliability and performance.
  • Shape and ship product end-to-end: Own features from problem definition to launch comms. Define scope, create scrappy wireframes, QA edge cases, and announce clearly.
  • Organise the product team: Manage competing priorities and ruthlessly prioritise in Jira to keep the team focussed and moving toward the roadmap.
  • Ensure integration quality: Analyse transaction data to catch errors or inconsistencies, and work with developers to fix these issues and improve how our integrations function.
  • Drive product independently: Work directly with the Founder and engineers, defining priorities, trade-offs, and outcomes—no top-down hand-holding.
  • Lead small cross-functional pods: While primarily an IC, you'll guide designers, QA engineers, and other collaborators toward aligned product outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Share clear updates across engineering, marketing, and customer support to ensure smooth and successful launches.

In your first 30 days you’ll:

  • Know the product inside out - after all, we expect our users to be able to do their taxes with Koinly in under 20 minutes.

  • Work with Robin, our Founder, to clearly articulate the product roadmap.

  • Create a shared brain across teams to empower independent decision-making.

What you bring

  • Advanced crypto expertise : You're familiar with trading, DeFi protocols, and on-chain mechanics (even as a hobbyist!), and can speak the language of Web3 users and partners.

  • Analytical and technical fluency and curiosity : You’re someone who can obsess over edge cases and enjoy going deep into technical flows — from investigating data discrepancies to anticipating failure scenarios before users do. You’re also comfortable sifting through the code base when needed.

  • 5+ years of product experience — You’ve worked as a PM in fast-paced environments, are confident writing tickets, grooming backlogs, and working closely with developers.

  • Attention to detail : You spot the smallest of mistakes and have a meticulous approach to QA.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: You communicate clearly and work well across marketing, support, and devs.

  • Hands-on approach: You’re adaptable, enjoy getting involved and embrace a fast-paced, evolving industry.

  • Highly organized and autonomous: You know how to manage complexity, drive progress without waiting for permission, and keep things moving in a high-trust team.

  • Leadership without hierarchy: You’re a strong individual contributor who can also lead a small group (e.g. a designer or QA) toward shared outcomes, without formal people management overhead.

  • You've built things from scratch: You’ve built products or features from 0→1, including defining scope, creating scrappy wireframes, iterating on feedback, and making trade-offs that balance UX, tech constraints, and speed.

Your first month

Your first few weeks at Koinly are all about mutual discovery. You’ll receive hands-on tasks that help us understand your technical strengths and how you operate in our async-first, ownership-driven environment. At the same time, you’ll get to explore whether our way of working challenges and supports you in the right ways.

We’re big on clarity, autonomy, and getting things done — and we hold our own product to the same standards. We expect our users to get their taxes done in under 20 minutes — and we aim to build with that same focus and confidence.

What you'll get

  • A lean, high-trust team that ships with quality.
  • Full ownership and autonomy in your work.
  • An async-first environment with minimal meetings.
  • Time for deep work — and respect for your energy.
  • Truly flexible working hours (40h/week, no more).
  • B2B contract.
  • 32 paid days off (incl. public holidays).
  • Co-working space budget, if desired.
  • Work on a technically rich product with real user impact.
