We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Principal, Listed Infrastructure Equity

Listed Infrastructure Equity team for part of HSBC Alternative Investment limited (HAIL) and are instrumental in Asset Management’s ambition to provide a full range of Real Asset solutions to our clients.

You’ll support the investment philosophy and process which is centred on the market drivers of the asset class i.e. contractual revenues, inflation-linked cash flows and high barriers to entry/regulatory impact.

You’ll have extensive engagement within Alternatives and across Asset Management generally as it actively seeks to develop the new business strategy.

In this role you’ll:

  • Implement the investment process for the infrastructure equity asset class, this also includes supporting the development and execution of the Listed Infrastructure Equity strategy globally
  • Conduct detailed company research, generate investment ideas and have input into portfolio construction to align with the investment strategy
  • Define risk adjusted investment targets by providing bottom-up stock recommendation and top-down research
  • Work towards integrating ESG principles into the investment process, ensuring the process is credible and to meet client and industry expectations
  • Ensure product performance is consistent and meets objectives, particularly delivering 4/5 Star Morningstar ratings
  • Foster strong working relationships within Alternatives and the broader Asset Management business and be a responsive point of contact where required

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant level of knowledge and experience of equity investment fund strategies (Buy & Sell side) in the Real Assets sector, ideally with insight of the Energy and Utilities infrastructure space
  • Strong ability to utilise suitable valuation frameworks to assess the relative attractiveness of investments and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Have a very strong research, qualitative and quantitative analysis capability and used to working with complex financial data
  • High level of communication skill and with various sources of information to formulate ideas and strategies
  • Possess very good stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across a varied audience
  • Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities
