Senior Software Engineer (LangChain/ Llamaindex)

Location: Ireland, UK, Netherlands or Portugal (Office/ Hybrid/Remote)

Position Summary

A new postition has opened for a Senior Software Engineer who will be an integral part of our global MicroStation product engineering team. As a Senior Software Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions in artificial intelligence (AI) for smart infrastructure, participate in the development of new AI features contributing to MicroStation, Bentley’s flagship Computer-Aided Design application which is used around the globe in world-class Engineering projects.

This role is a key contributor to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of cutting-edge software solutions within Bentley Systems, involving collaboration with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and deliver high-quality, scalable, and innovative software applications with AI functionality.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML algorithms and models using accepted best practices

• Create high-quality and well architected code that is testable, and efficient with a focus on solid technical designs.

• Participate in code reviews to gain and share knowledge (while providing and accepting constructive feedback).

• Primary technologies you will work with include: Typescript, C#, C++

• Provide guidance to engineering teams during the implementation phase. This could involve code reviews, best practices enforcement, and troubleshooting technical issues.

• Ensure secure integration and communication between different programming languages within the software architecture.

• Research, investigate, and fix a wide range of defects/technical issues. 

• Take ownership of the solutions you design and implement, ensuring high standards of quality and scalability.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, machine learning or equivalent work experience required

• Experience of working in a product focused software engineering environment working in Typescript

• Experience of C++, C# would be a distinct advantage to understand our existing products

• Experience with Large Language Models, RAG and copilot systems; including Langchain, Llamaindex or similar

• Ability to develop innovative solutions in artificial intelligence to resolve concrete and complex challenges

• At least 6+ years of developing software

• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development practices, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps processes/tools.
