Family Support Worker (Children, Young People & Families)

Client Snapshot: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-respected charity delivering specialist support services to children, young people, and families across London. The organisation works closely with families experiencing multiple and complex needs, including safeguarding concerns, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and involvement with criminal justice or statutory services. Vacancy Brief: * Role: Children, Young People & Family (CYPF) Worker * Pay Rate: £24.00 PAYE * Contract: Until end of March, with a strong view to extension * Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm * Location: London (SE6) * Service Type: Intensive family and early help support * Compliance: Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce required) The CYPF Worker will manage a caseload of families, delivering intensive, flexible, and strengths-based interventions to achieve sustainable, positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families. The Responsibilities: * Manage a caseload of families, delivering targeted interventions in line with care and support plans. * Build trusted, respectful relationships with children, young people, and families through consistent and persistent engagement. * Complete assessments using a strengths-based and solution-focused approach. * Deliver psycho-social and parenting interventions, working collaboratively to set and achieve goals. * Undertake direct work with children and young people through one-to-one and group-based approaches. * Work restoratively with families, supporting and challenging them to achieve planned outcomes. * Liaise and work in partnership with multi-agency professionals including social workers, schools, health visitors, and outreach teams. * Monitor progress, review outcomes, and address barriers in partnership with families and professionals. * Maintain accurate case records, reports, and documentation in line with organisational and statutory requirements. * Ensure all safeguarding concerns relating to children and adults are managed in line with local authority and organisational policies. The Essentials: * NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards this. * Significant experience working with children, young people, and families with complex needs. * Strong understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. * Experience delivering intensive family support, early help, or targeted interventions. * Excellent communication, engagement, and organisational skills. * Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain professional boundaries. * Confident using IT systems for case management and reporting.
