My client is a premier venue and live events business based in East London. Following major expansion projects and the rollout of new leisure districts, this flagship organisation welcomes millions of visitors every year across a diverse portfolio of world-class events. Driven by a collaborative, values-led culture, they are now looking to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller to join their four-person finance leadership structure.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role takes full ownership of the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the group's core accounting records and General Ledger. Managing a direct team of four and partnering with senior heads across 25 operational departments, you will play a central role in maintaining financial discipline and modernising core systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Inspiring, coaching, and setting clear direction for a team of four covering Accounts Payable, Revenue & Credit, Cashier, and Management Accounts.

• Overseeing group accounting operations, maintaining robust financial controls, and collaborating with internal audit and compliance teams.

• Driving system optimisation and process automation across the finance function, leveraging modern IT tools and AI solutions where appropriate.

• Managing working capital, balance sheet reconciliations, treasury, and inputs into monthly cash flow forecasting.

• Partnering with senior managers across 25 operational business functions to ensure financial accuracy at every level.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified finance leader who thrives when managing people, tightening controls, and driving digital transformation.

Essential criteria:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with several years of post-qualification experience in industry or commerce.

• Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing direct reports within a finance function.

• Strong track record of achievements over 3-5 years in a Financial Controller or Finance Manager role.

• Hands-on experience driving finance system improvements, process automation, or digital transformation initiatives.

• Advanced Excel capabilities and overall technical fluency, with a tech-forward mindset around automation.

• Confident communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum

• Bonus: Up to 20% performance-related bonus

• Working Model: 4 days per week in their East London office (free on-site car parking provided)
