WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We’re seeking a Sales Director to lead and grow HR Technologies UK. You’ll be responsible for delivering strong revenue performance, setting strategic sales plans, and empowering your team to succeed. This role combines market insight, people leadership, and commercial ownership to ensure continued growth and market presence.
THE ROLE:
As Sales Director, your core responsibilities will include:
Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute the sales strategy for HR Technologies UK.
Research and recommend pricing strategies to maximise revenue and profit.
Collaborate with the Group Event Director (GED) and Head of Marketing on campaigns.
Drive 75%+ customer retention through client relationships and engagement.
Oversee all show revenue and ensure alignment with overall business targets.
Deliver timely sales reports and insight to leadership.
Market & Event Development
Monitor competitor and market trends to identify new opportunities.
Maintain sales records and translate insights into actionable decisions.
Initiate partnerships and external collaborations to support growth.
Create post-event analysis and regular market research to inform commercial development.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams (marketing, ops, finance) to align strategy and execution.
Liaise with operations to shape floor plans that meet customer needs.
Ensure sales tools and marketing collateral are created and deployed effectively.
ABOUT YOU:
You are a strategic thinker and hands-on leader with experience in sales and event management. You thrive in a high-performance environment and understand the importance of data-led decisions, client relationships, and team development.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team through one-on-ones, feedback, and training.
Set individual and team targets; manage performance, morale, and motivation.
Promote a learning culture with regular coaching and transparent communication.
Ensure proper use of CRM tools (e.g., CloserStill) and alignment with support teams.
Recruit, train, and resource the team to meet business needs.
Key KPIs
Achievement of annual revenue, profit, rebook, and new business targets.
High performance and ambition across the sales team.
Timely reporting of forecasts and performance.
Growth of qualified leads and customer database.
Strong collaboration with internal teams.
Retention and progression of direct reports.
75%+ customer retention rate.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong planning, forecasting, and budget management abilities.
High proficiency in CRM, Excel, and sales/finance tools.
Leadership and delegation skills with a flexible, feedback-oriented mindset.
