Junior Garment Technologist

The position will be to join this thriving, ladieswear supplier – With some experience as a Junior Garment Technologist you will be looking to grow your career further.

Role & responsibilities:

• Preparation of all samples before the fit meeting – press/reference samples, specing initial samples, chasing production samples, uploading the PS chase up list.
• Measure and inspect samples for fit and quality, sewing on buttons, ensure samples are tagged up with date. i.e. sealer, factory PP, PS etc.
• Managing customer workbooks in correct format.
• Writing up comments, providing admin support
• Liaise with factories regarding fit comments and spec requirements.
• Understanding status reports and updating the critical path system.
• Liaise with the Patterns teams on amendments and queries.
• Chasing and gathering information, chasing correct trims, uploading sealing on visual.
• Preparing Tech Packs, filing pattern envelops.
• Research and comp shopping – prepare presentation with the team.
• Day to day general administrative duties, collecting/distributing post, general admin for GT team.

The candidate:

• A minimum of 1 years' experience in retail or supplier environment, preferably who has a high street supplier background
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion with a genuine interest in garment construction.
• A understanding of pattern cutting and garment manufacture.
• Solid experience using Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Good communication skills, using own initiative and be self-driven.
• Organisational skills, accuracy skills and be innovative with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Strong work ethic, willing to go the extra mile.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Passionate, enthusiastic, shows initiative.
• Good knowledge of garment construction and fitting.
