Product Director, Flex (Borrowing)
What you’ll be working onSet the strategy for Flex Set direction for one of Monzo’s most important revenue-driving productsIdentify and unlock new commercial opportunities across customer segmentsNavigate complex trade-offs between growth, risk, and customer outcomesDrive commercial performance Work closely with Credit teams to shape propositions across multiple risk segments and cohortsInterrogate performance deeply — from unit economics to long-term profitability curvesIdentify and drive new commercial opportunitiesChampion the customer Ensure Flex remains rooted in strong customer outcomes, not just revenuePush for simple, transparent, and delightful experiencesAdvocate for customer experience alongside commercial outcomesBuild and lead a high-performing team Manage and develop a team of Product ManagersDeliver multiple high-impact initiatives through your direct reportsRaise the bar on product thinking and foster a culture of high standard and high velocityWhat We’re Looking ForCommercial Thinking Strong commercial instinct — you think in terms of trade-offs, economics, and outcomesComfortable operating in complex environments (e.g. multiple segments and cohorts with different commercials)Able to engage deeply with Credit and Data partnersExperience in lending, credit cards, or adjacent borrowing productsConsumer Focus You start with the customer never lose track of their needsYou’re willing to challenge revenue-driven decisions when they conflict with good customer outcomesYou have strong product taste and care deeply about experience qualityExecution & Leadership Proven ability to deliver in fast-paced environments with multiple workstreamsComfortable going deep in the detail while leading through othersStrong cross-functional leadership across technical, credit, and governance stakeholders
