Tax Director - Treasury Tax | Big 4 | London / UK Flexible

A leading Big 4 firm is continuing to invest in its specialist Treasury Tax practice and is seeking an experienced Tax Director to join the team during an exciting period of growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong Corporate Tax and/or Treasury Tax background who enjoys tackling technically complex issues, advising on high-profile transactions, and working closely with senior stakeholders across a diverse client base.

As a Tax Director, you will play a central role in delivering treasury tax and corporate tax advisory services, supporting clients and internal tax teams on a range of complex financing, restructuring, M&A and cross-border projects.
You will also be instrumental in the continued development and expansion of the Treasury Tax practice, helping to strengthen internal relationships, drive business growth and contribute to the strategic direction of the team.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on loan relationships and derivative contract legislation, including the application of the Disregard Regulations.
• Providing guidance on associated areas such as Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR), Anti-Hybrid rules, Withholding Tax and Distributions.
• Delivering senior technical support on acquisition, financing, refinancing and restructuring transactions.
• Assisting with audit support, tax authority enquiries, and complex compliance and advisory engagements.
• Acting as a trusted adviser to Corporate Tax teams and clients, translating complex legislation into commercially focused, practical recommendations.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior client contacts and colleagues across the UK and wider international network.
• Leading technical discussions, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to training initiatives and knowledge development.
• Supporting the growth of the Treasury Tax offering through business development activities, identifying opportunities and helping to win new work.

You will be a CTA, ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualified tax professional, currently operating at Senior Manager or Director level within a Big 4, Top 10 or well-regarded specialist tax environment.
Ideally, you will offer:

• Strong Corporate Tax and accounting expertise.
• Experience in Treasury Tax, funding structures, loan relationships, derivatives or related financing matters.
• A robust understanding of UK tax legislation affecting financing and treasury activity.
• Experience advising on complex transactions, restructurings and tax advisory projects.
• The confidence and credibility to engage effectively with Partners, senior clients and key decision-makers.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to convert technical tax issues into pragmatic business solutions.
• A genuine interest in developing specialist expertise while contributing to the growth and success of a developing service line.

Previous Treasury Tax experience is highly advantageous. However, the role would also suit a strong Corporate Tax Senior Manager or Director looking to specialise further within this highly technical and increasingly important area.

The role offers flexible UK-based working arrangements, with office hubs preferred in London, Leeds, or Edinburgh.
