How We Select Students – Skills, Strengths & Potential
Because this is an entry‑level opportunity, we focus on motivation and potential, not experience.
You will be assessed on:
- Curiosity and willingness to learn
- Commitment to participating fully
- Personal strengths (e.g., communication, teamwork, creativity)
- Interest in business, technology, people, or related fields
You will need to submit
A personal statement (300–400 words) explaining:
- Why you want to join
- How the programme fits your interests
- Any career paths you’re considering
We will obtain
A letter of recommendation from a teacher or school representative.
- Written screening (personal statement + recommendation)
Process
- Short 30-minute Microsoft teams' video interview with Safa Iqbal (Employee experience specialist) and then a 30-minute video interview final with Clara Moretti-Parker (Head of Talent)
This approach helps us select students who truly want to be here and will get the most value from the experience.
Benefits
Our work experience programme has been designed to give you a broad introduction to the world of work - but the benefits go far beyond simple exposure.
• Experience a fast‑growing fintech environment
You’ll spend time across multiple teams, giving you insight into how a modern technology‑driven business operates day‑to‑day. This helps you understand different career paths and what roles might suit you in the future.
• Build real employability skills
Throughout the week, you’ll develop skills such as communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, professionalism, and confidence - the same core skills employers look for when hiring.
• Learn from experts in their field
You’ll be surrounded by talented people across Technology, People & Talent, Customer Support, Commercial, Finance and more. You’ll learn through observation, mentoring, and hands‑on tasks where appropriate.
• Take part in real workplace experiences
From shadowing meetings to completing a short end‑of‑week presentation, you’ll get a genuine feel for workplace expectations, tools, and ways of working.
