RORA is growing our exclusive freelance team of FinOps Managers. We’re looking for qualified or part-qualified accountants who have worked in the startup or scaleup sectors and who want more variety, impact, and freedom in their work. You’re likely currently working as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Associate Director or similar and looking to expand your portfolio with interim or contracting roles.

the role
As a FinOps Manager Contractor, you’ll work directly with founders and leadership teams at startups and scaleups to deliver impactful finance and operational solutions.
Your general scope of work will include:
- Managing accountancy and finance operations for multiple UK startups and scaleups.
- Identifying and implementing scalable solutions to automate and optimize systems and processes.
- Build collaborative relationships with external partners and RORA's own FinOps team.
- Mentor and develop RORA's international FinOps Analyst team.
Our contracts range from fractional gigs (1–3 days per week per client), with some larger 4/5 day scopes up for grabs too.
your experience
- 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting (startup/scaleup experience mandatory.)
- Professional finance credentials (e.g., ACA, CIMA) preferred.
- Confident in producing management reporting and implementing financial processes.
- Experience with cloud-based financial software (e.g., Xero) and tools such as Dext, Pleo or similar.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships.
