About the School

The school is recognised for its academic excellence, inclusive ethos, and commitment to providing students with a safe and high-quality learning environment. The Premises Manager plays a crucial leadership role, overseeing site maintenance, health and safety compliance, and the day-to-day operation of school facilities.

The school values initiative, professionalism, and teamwork, offering a supportive environment where facilities staff are highly valued and essential to school operations.

Role Responsibilities

As Premises Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the school’s site and facilities team, including caretakers and site assistants.

  • Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe at all times.

  • Overseeing maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects, liaising with contractors and suppliers.

  • Monitoring and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures.

  • Managing the school’s premises budget, procurement, and inventory of equipment and supplies.

  • Planning and coordinating setup and support for school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities.

  • Implementing and updating premises policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant experience in facilities or premises management, ideally in a school or educational setting.

  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage a team effectively.

  • Knowledge of health and safety, risk assessments, and safe working practices.

  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and collaboratively.

  • Reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining high standards.

What the School Offers

  • A leadership role within a supportive and professional facilities team.

  • Opportunities for professional development and training in facilities management.

  • A valued role contributing directly to the smooth operation and safety of the school.

  • A positive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Premises Manager to join a thriving secondary school in Chiswick and lead the management and development of the school’s facilities to support teaching and learning.
