About the department
The Welbeck Central Pharmacy is a specialist clinical pharmacy service supporting a high-performing private day-case centre in London. The department works across a range of surgical and outpatient specialties, ensuring safe, efficient and patient-focused medicines management. It collaborates closely with consultants, clinical teams and supply chain partners to deliver timely access to medicines, maintain robust stock control, and support high standards of patient care.
About the role
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in delivering a safe and efficient dispensary-based clinical pharmacy service. You will support dispensing, procurement and medicines management activities, working closely with the Centre Director (Superintendent Pharmacist) and wider healthcare teams. The role requires initiative, adaptability and the ability to manage workload effectively while contributing to service improvement and maintaining high standards of patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately dispense prescriptions for outpatient and inpatient services
Provide patients with clear guidance on the safe use of their medicines
Manage stock control, including ordering, receipt, rotation and expiry monitoring
Support the safe management and supply of controlled drugs
Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers regarding medication supply
Maintain accurate records for stock, dispensing and pharmacy systems
Support medicines management activities, audits and data collection
Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff

About you
You are a qualified and registered Pharmacy Technician with a proactive and organised approach to your work. You demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. You are confident working independently, able to prioritise competing demands, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
You will also demonstrate:
· GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification
· Experience work ing in a dispensary setting, including ordering, stock control, patient engagement & dispensing
· Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and use initiative
· Basic IT and pharmacy system skills
· Commitment to CPD and continuous improvement
