Internal Audit Manager Public Sector

Bruin Financial
London

43991

We are supporting a leading consultancy in London with the hire of an Internal Audit Manager to join their Governance, Risk and Compliance practice in London.

This role sits within their Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare team and focuses on delivering Internal Audit and risk advisory services across the public sector including education, healthcare, housing and central and local government.

The position offers genuine ownership. You will lead and deliver internal audits on an outsourced and co-sourced basis, create annual audit plans, manage portfolios of clients and act as the senior point of contact with FDs, Audit Committees and Boards.

It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys client facing work, leading teams and shaping how Internal Audit is delivered rather than just executing individual audits.

Key experience they are looking for includes:

  • Internal audit delivery experience
  • Public sector client exposure
  • Leading audits end to end including planning, reporting and Audit Committee interaction
  • Managing teams and engagement budgets
  • A recognised qualification such as IIA, CIPFA, ICAEW or equivalent
  • Consulting experience is helpful but not essential. Education sector exposure is beneficial but not a prerequisite.

Please note that this role does not offer sponsorship

Bruin recognises the positive value of diversity, and aims to promote equality and challenge unfair discrimination. As a champion of equal opportunity employment we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons – men and women, people of all ages, sexual orientations, nationalities, religions and beliefs. We particularly encourage applications from women, disabled, and Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as these groups are underrepresented throughout the financial services industry. Our clients work with us because they value a diverse workforce, and subscribe to our shared principle that all appointments are made on merit and that ability to perform the job will be the primary consideration.
