This is an exceptional opportunity to join a purpose-led team delivering trauma-informed, high-quality support to women experiencing violence and abuse.
As VAWG Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring that frontline services are consistently responsive, empowering, and safe. You will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team of professionals including IDVAs, caseworkers, and project staff—ensuring delivery is aligned with national quality standards and centred on the voices and needs of the women supported.
Key Responsibilities
Service and Team Leadership

- Deliver supervision, annual appraisals, and day-to-day guidance to ensure wellbeing, motivation, and adherence to best practice.
- Create and maintain a collaborative, inclusive team culture that is values-led, trauma-informed, and grounded in safeguarding.
Performance and Quality Management
- Oversee all aspects of case management, including needs and risk assessments, safety planning, and advocacy.
- Monitor performance against key contractual outcomes and national frameworks such as Women’s Aid and SafeLives Leading Lights.
- Take proactive steps to address under-performance and identify training and development needs within the team.
- Support the re-accreditation and continuous improvement of the service through internal reviews and evidence-based practice.
Service Development and Delivery
- Develop and implement operational systems, processes and tools to improve service delivery and impact.
- Contribute to budget planning, resource allocation and financial oversight alongside senior management.
- Identify service delivery gaps and work collaboratively to enhance provision and secure funding for new initiatives.
Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the main operational contact for commissioners, subcontracted partners, and key agencies.
- Represent the service in multi-agency forums and strategic meetings to promote an integrated, system-wide approach to tackling VAWG.
- Strengthen referral pathways and institutional advocacy networks to ensure a joined-up response to women’s needs.
- Champion the voices of survivors in all areas of development, consultation, and advocacy.
About You

- In-depth understanding of domestic abuse, VAWG, and the broader social, cultural, and legal context.
- Significant experience of managing frontline services within the women’s sector or VAWG-related context.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation, MARAC processes, and risk management frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in managing dispersed or remote teams with strong supervisory and coaching capabilities.
- Proven ability to build multi-agency relationships and work collaboratively to influence system change.

- Strategic thinker with a solutions-focused mindset and excellent decision-making skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, able to prioritise competing demands and lead through change.
- Ability to develop and deliver training, systems and procedures to enhance service delivery.
- Committed to intersectional feminist principles and equality, diversity and inclusion.
Desirable:
