Role Overview
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hammersmith is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their pupil support team ASAP. In this versatile role, you will work closely with class teachers across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to support pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and classroom engagement. You will deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group learning interventions, assist with classroom management, and help create an encouraging learning environment where every child can achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Support class teachers in delivering engaging literacy, numeracy, and broad curriculum activities across primary key stages.
Lead structured 1:1 and small-group intervention sessions in reading, writing, and mathematics to accelerate pupil progress.
Assist pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), adapt resources, and implement targets outlined in Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Promote positive classroom behaviour, social development, and emotional resilience in line with school behavioural policies.
Assist with classroom preparation, display creation, supervision during break/lunch periods, and educational visits.
Key Requirements
Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or a relevant Degree in Education, Psychology, or Humanities).
Previous experience supporting primary-aged children in an educational, childcare, or youth work setting.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics).
Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with children.
Legal right to work in the UK.
