Internal Communications Specialist - 5 Month Fixed Term Contract

We’ve got big plans. Yet to reach our goals, we need our people to be fully engaged with what we’re trying to achieve. You’ll plan and manage the delivery of a wide range of internal communication projects.
From ensuring news and information is correct, to applying best practice and using the correct corporate style and branding; and from maintaining a database of communication plans that supports our strategy, to suggesting relevant communications channels… you will ensure that everything is delivered to the highest quality, within cost and to deadline. You will even help out with corporate communications activities as needed, as we work as one team here at NPL.About You
You will plan and deliver a range of internal communication activities to support one of our major programmes, NPL’s vision, targets and business plans, defining key business messages and write clear, effective and engaging copy to engage the relevant internal audiences with these messages.
You will ensure news and information is clearly and effectively communicated to the relevant audiences using the appropriate channels , applying best practice to internal and external communications, using the appropriate corporate style and branding.
You will also work with colleagues from across the programme and with the members of the Corporate Marketing and Communications team.
- With a background in internal and corporate communications, you have plenty of creative flair and the drive to get things done.
- Good organisation skills, meticulous attention to detail and a commercial awareness are all must-haves.
- You also need excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong copywriting and editing skills.
- Experience of working within a science, engineering or technology would be an advantage, and you will need to demonstrate a keen interest in science and engineering.
- Experience with using Office 365 tools, including SharePoint and Teams, is also essential.

To work at NPL, you will need to obtain BPSS security clearance, and for this role you will need to have an SC clearance with no restrictions, or you must have the ability to obtain an SC clearance.
