Primary Role

* To educate the children, for whom you are responsible, so that they achieve the best possible academic, spiritual and moral education. This is achieved by being a role model at all times: demonstrating strong subject knowledge, integrity, ethics, perseverance and self-reflection

* Ensuring strong relationships with our families to best enable every child to succeed

* Helping to develop the school as an evangelising, catechetical and educational community.

Duties and Responsibilities

* To carry out the statutory tasks comprehensively as laid down in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions of Service Document in the light of the procedures and guidelines adopted by the Governing Board

* To meet the teachers’ standards

* To ensure that the safeguarding policies are following and that the safeguarding of the pupils is of high priority

* To contribute to the Catholic life of the school community, rooted in the Eucharistic community it serves.

Classroom Practice

* Ensure the highest possible quality learning environment in the classroom which reflects the Catholic nature of the school as set out laid out in the school’s Mission statement

* Ensure that all teaching and learning is conducted in an atmosphere of affirmation, encouragement, realistic challenge and sensitive reflection

* Access and record each pupil’s progress systematically in line with current school procedures and use the results to inform planning

* Constructively feedback to children on their learning so as to induce a positive impact on their outcomes

* Periodically, positively evaluate your own pedagogy to consolidate strengths and improve effectiveness when appropriate

* To be responsible for the specific areas of the school in relation to health and safety issues and report any concerns to a school leader.

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional colleagues, acknowledging the need for mutual support

* Participate as required in meetings with professional colleagues and parents in respect of the duties and responsibilities of your post

* Passionate to affirm and encourage parents in their role as the first educators of their children and ensure effective communication with parents

* Take responsibility for your own professional development and on-going formation

* Endeavour to retain a healthy balance in your professional and personal life

* To know and follow all school policies including child protection procedures and health and safety

* To be flexible and open to change with a positive optimistic mind-set.

Menopause Counselling: Menopause Counselling provides a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore their feelings, concerns, and questions.
