London

Purpose of role

Help some of the UK’s most ambitious financial services, fintech and cybersecurity businesses take their next step on the global stage. Leading sector recruitment and account management across Grow London Global and our new UK-wide scale-up programme, you will connect companies with the customers, investment and partnerships they need to grow.

You will work directly with founders, CEOs and senior leadership teams across banking and payments, insurance and insurtech, wealth and asset management, lending, regtech and financial infrastructure, alongside cybersecurity businesses serving financial services and other industries. Getting to know their businesses and ambitions, you will help them tackle challenges ranging from winning institutional customers and building distribution partnerships to navigating regulated markets and expanding internationally.

You will lead and develop a team of Growth Managers across London and the UK, bringing together sector expertise, regional knowledge and strong business networks. Together, you will recruit and support companies across the country, including London businesses participating in Grow London Global, and provide practical support tailored to each company’s growth journey.

Key Tasks

Strategy

  • Shape and deliver our Fintech & Cyber sector strategy across both programmes, reflecting the wider financial services industry and identifying promising companies, priority subsectors and international opportunities.
  • Develop support that helps businesses win customers, navigate institutional procurement and complex sales cycles, and build commercial partnerships.

  • Work with the Head of Scaleup Programmes to set clear sector priorities and targets, drawing on the strengths of business ecosystems across the UK.
  • Bring founder feedback, company insights and sector intelligence into programme planning, keeping our support relevant as markets, technologies and regulatory environments evolve.

  • Engage female and underrepresented founders and work with regional networks to widen access to opportunities.

Account management and delivery

  • Build trusted relationships with a portfolio of financial services, fintech and cybersecurity businesses across the UK, working directly with founders and senior leaders on their commercial and international growth.
  • Understand each company’s business model, customer traction, investment needs and regulatory considerations, identifying where support can make the greatest difference.
  • Develop practical growth plans with clear actions and milestones, reviewing progress regularly and adapting support as companies develop.
  • Connect companies with decision-makers in banks, insurers, asset managers, payment providers and other financial institutions, alongside potential investors and distribution partners.
  • Help cybersecurity businesses reach relevant buyers, including security leaders, and build relationships with channel partners, technology providers and corporate customers.
  • Bring in specialist advisers to help companies address relevant licensing, regulatory, compliance, security assurance and market access challenges.
  • Create sector activities that respond to company needs, from corporate meetings and investor sessions to founder roundtables, specialist workshops and peer learning.
  • Plan and deliver international trade missions and visits with market teams, giving companies access to relevant customers, financial services ecosystems and commercial opportunities.

  • Work with regional delivery partners to identify promising companies, understand local sector strengths and create connections across regions.
  • Develop international relationships that open opportunities for companies to meet customers, investors and commercial partners.
  • Collaborate with London & Partners’ sector specialists, international market teams and wider services to bring the right expertise to each company.
  • Represent London & Partners and both programmes at sector events, sharing insights, speaking on panels and bringing founders and partners together.

  • Coordinate portfolios and workloads, matching colleagues’ expertise to company needs and balancing capacity across both programmes.
  • Work with the Senior Manager – Operations to agree executive support for sector recruitment and delivery, providing clear briefs and feedback.
  • Take responsibility for sector recruitment, engagement and growth targets, using performance insights to focus effort and address gaps.
  • Ensure your team maintains accurate Salesforce records of company needs, support delivered, key dates and evidenced outcomes.
  • Work with programme management and impact colleagues to capture business wins, investment and jobs, and provide information required to assess gross value added.
