A well-regarded independent school in Kensington is seeking a skilled and proactive Design & Technology Technician to support its thriving DT Department. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and creative faculty, ensuring that practical learning experiences are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in enabling pupils to develop practical skills across a range of disciplines, potentially including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics and CAD/CAM.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons
Maintaining workshop machinery and ensuring safe working practices at all times
Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions where required
Managing stock control, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory records
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and COSHH requirements
Carrying out routine maintenance and basic repairs of tools and equipment
Assisting with displays, exhibitions and departmental projects
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking someone who:
Has practical experience working in a workshop or technical environment
Possesses strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
Is organised, methodical and proactive
Can manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
Works collaboratively with teaching staff and students
Has experience with CAD/CAM or workshop machinery (desirable)
Demonstrates a flexible and positive approach to school life
