A well-regarded independent school in Kensington is seeking a skilled and proactive Design & Technology Technician to support its thriving DT Department. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and creative faculty, ensuring that practical learning experiences are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in enabling pupils to develop practical skills across a range of disciplines, potentially including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics and CAD/CAM.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons

• Maintaining workshop machinery and ensuring safe working practices at all times

• Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions where required

• Managing stock control, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory records

• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and COSHH requirements

• Carrying out routine maintenance and basic repairs of tools and equipment

• Assisting with displays, exhibitions and departmental projects

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking someone who:

• Has practical experience working in a workshop or technical environment

• Possesses strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures

• Is organised, methodical and proactive

• Can manage time effectively and prioritise tasks

• Works collaboratively with teaching staff and students

• Has experience with CAD/CAM or workshop machinery (desirable)

• Demonstrates a flexible and positive approach to school life
