Centrepoint
London

Contract: FTC (until 31 March 2026), Part-Time (17.5 hours per week)

Salary: £13,929.72 per annum

Closing Date: 01 September 2025

Interviews will be held w/c 08 September 2025

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Legal Clinic Co-ordinator to support the Centrepoint Helpline who’s office base in London E1.

Due to the nature of the work, we are looking for a candidate who can spread the hours over 5 days 50% of which must be spent in the office.

About us

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037 .

Together with our partners, we support over 15,000 young people each year.

About the role

The Helpline Legal Clinic Co-ordinator will play a key role in a pilot project which aims to make legal advice accessible to young people who are experiencing homelessness and have been unable to access support from their local authority.

Part of the AIM Team (Advice, Information & Money), the Helpline Legal Clinic Co-ordinator operates thanks to external funding from our Corporate Partners. The Legal Clinic Co-ordinator will collaborate closely between the Helpline team and the AIM Team Manager.

Please note this is predominantly an administrative role. IT literacy, excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. The ability to consider key facts (involving young people, their housing and support needs) is of great importance. While the successful candidate will have the opportunity to liaise with and seek feedback from young people, this is not a direct face to face role.

About you

  • Experience of working with vulnerable client groups
  • Flexible approach to your working day
  • Effective communicator
  • Patient and empathetic - always putting young people at the heart of what you do
  • Confidence to hit the ground running

What you’ll be doing

  • Working closely with the Centrepoint Helpline Advice Workers who support young homeless people with a referral for legal advice
  • Triaging referrals – checking they are within the scope of the clinic and complete with background papers where appropriate
  • Liaising with our external partners to book young people into remote advice clinic appointments
  • Managing the remote clinic appointments to ensure they meet the needs of young people and our external partners
  • Following up on referrals and leading on reporting to ensure we can evidence impact
  • Working to support the wider mission of the AIM Team
  • Building relationships with external partners who can support Centrepoints’ aims

Why join Centrepoint?

In return for your effort you’ll receive a competitive salary, excellent training and development, and a host of staff benefits including:

  • 25 days of annual leave per year, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 27 days (pro rata)
  • Healthcare cash plan (Cover the costs of a wide range of medical treatment including Dental, Optical, Complementary and Alternative therapies).
  • Private Medical insurance
  • Income protection
  • Employer pension contributions of 5%
  • Access to Cycle 2 Work loan scheme
  • An interest-free travel loan

At Centrepoint we challenge the discrimination within society that contributes to youth homelessness, and we are just as committed to fairness and equality within Centrepoint itself. We are passionate about ensuring all of our colleagues are made to feel included in the work we do and that we value the rich diversity within the organization.

We are an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, belief in any religion and none, gender identity, ethnic origin, class, sexuality, nationality, appearance, unrelated criminal activities, disability, responsibility for dependents, part time or shift workers, being HIV positive or living with AIDS, lived experience of homelessness or using young people’s services and any other matter which causes a person to be treated with injustice.

Centrepoint’s policy is to recruit, employ and promote people on the basis of their suitability for the work to be performed, and to this end, our aim is to ensure that all applicants, employees and volunteers receive equal treatment.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to join our team as Helpline Legal Clinic Co-ordinator - click ‘Apply’ now!
