Project Manager - Major Works

Adecco are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Major Works on behalf of a local authority based in Havering. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the delivery of refurbishment, reinvestment, and new build housing schemes. This role involves managing consultants and contractors, overseeing health and safety compliance, and ensuring high-quality outcomes for residents.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects within the HRA Planned Works programme, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent service and resident satisfaction.

Full Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
Temporary Role - 6 months
£450 per day Umbrella
Hybrid Working - initially mostly office / site based with opportunity to work from home depending on works needing to be carried out

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed project and cost plans, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
Commission and manage consultants across various disciplines to deliver compliant and high-quality schemes.
Monitor performance and take action to address underperformance in support of the Planned Programme and Direct Delivery Manager.
Maintain accurate project records in line with Council and professional standards.

Essential Experience

Proven experience delivering fire safety construction works, including knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and its application to higher-risk buildings.
Demonstrated success in managing projects involving multi-disciplinary consultant teams.

Essential Qualifications

A qualification in Building, Housing, or a related field (e.g., HND/NVQ Level 4, CIOB, or equivalent professional body/institute).
