A welcoming secondary school in Bexley is looking to recruit a dependable School Caretaker to support the maintenance and security of its premises. The school takes pride in providing a clean, safe and well-presented environment and requires someone who can take a hands-on approach to the upkeep of its buildings and grounds.
The Role
The Caretaker will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance duties and assisting with the daily operation of the school site. Tasks will include completing basic repairs, checking classrooms and communal areas, reporting maintenance issues, moving furniture and preparing rooms for meetings and school events. You will also assist with opening and securing the premises, monitoring site access, receiving deliveries and ensuring that the school grounds remain tidy. The successful candidate will help maintain a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Requirements
Applicants should ideally have previous experience in caretaking, maintenance or facilities support. Practical DIY skills, reliability and the ability to work independently are essential. A good awareness of health and safety procedures and a proactive approach to identifying maintenance issues would be highly desirable.
