Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and professional Full-Time Live-In Housekeeper to oversee the daily upkeep and presentation of a 7,000 sq ft luxury estate operated as a high-end short-term rental.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the property to five-star hotel standards, managing all cleaning and laundry requirements, and providing light guest service during stays. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, discretion, flexibility, and pride in delivering a premium household environment.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Cleaning

  • Maintain the entire property to an exceptionally high standard at all times
  • Daily cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and communal spaces
  • Carry out full changeover cleans between guest stays
  • Undertake periodic deep cleaning as required
  • Ensure the property is always presented to a guest-ready standard
  • Identify and report maintenance issues or damage promptly to the Estate Manager

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Full responsibility for laundering, ironing, and storing all: bed linen, towels, and soft furnishings
  • Ensure hotel-standard linen presentation at all times
  • Manage linen rotation, and flag replacement needs
  • Maintain adequate stock of laundry and cleaning supplies

Guest Service & Hospitality Support

Provide polite, professional guest assistance, including:

  • Serving tea, coffee, or refreshments when requested
  • Setting tables and assisting during meals (no cooking required unless agreed)
  • Responding to reasonable ad-hoc guest requests
  • Maintain discretion and respect guest privacy at all times
  • Present a calm, courteous, and professional manner when guests are in residence

Estate Support & Ad-Hoc Duties

Support the Estate Manager with:

  • Preparing the property ahead of guest arrivals
  • Post-departure resets
  • Inventory checks of toiletries and household supplies
  • Assist with light property-related errands when required
  • Provide support during busy periods or occasional events

Working Hours

  • Full-time role
  • Working hours aligned with guest occupancy and changeover schedules
  • Flexibility required during guest stays and peak periods
  • Overtime or additional hours to be agreed in advance

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Housekeeper within:

  • Luxury private households
  • High-end hotels
  • Villas, estates, or serviced residences
  • Strong knowledge of professional cleaning methods and products
  • Confident managing laundry and ironing to hotel standards
  • Good spoken English preferred
  • Legal right to work in the UK (essential)
  • Excellent, checkable references required
