This full-time position will start in September, and we are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual who is passionate about driving excellence in Spanish education.

As the Head of Spanish, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Spanish department, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for both students and staff. Your expertise and outstanding leadership abilities will inspire and motivate students to develop their Spanish language skills and deepen their cultural awareness.

Working closely with a team of dedicated educators, you will have the autonomy to design and implement a comprehensive and engaging Spanish curriculum, ensuring that students acquire the necessary language proficiency and cultural knowledge to thrive academically and personally.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Spanish department
• Oversee the quality of teaching and learning in Spanish
• Mentor and support Spanish teachers, fostering their professional growth
• Develop and implement initiatives to enhance students' linguistic and cultural competence
• Coordinate and supervise extracurricular activities related to Spanish language and culture
• Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and initiatives
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Spanish education and implement best practices
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievements, providing guidance and support when needed

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Specialization in Spanish or a related field
• Postgraduate degree in Spanish or Education (desirable)
• Extensive experience teaching Spanish, preferably at a secondary school level
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills
• Passion for promoting Spanish language acquisition and cultural awareness
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development in Spanish education
