English Teacher
An inspiring and dedicated English Teacher is required for a permanent full-time position at an Outstanding mixed school in Haringey, commencing in September. This is a wonderful opportunity to cultivate a love for literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) within a supportive and academically focused environment in North London.
Responsibilities
- You will plan and deliver engaging English lessons that explore a rich variety of literary texts and develop students' understanding of language in its diverse forms.
- The role involves fostering a stimulating and inclusive classroom where every student feels empowered to express themselves creatively and explore the power of words.
- You will inspire students to develop their critical thinking, analytical skills, and appreciation for the nuances of the English language.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English Language and Literature is essential.
- Experience teaching engaging and effective English lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is highly desirable.
- A deep and current understanding of English literature and language, coupled with the ability to bring the subject to life, is expected.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside strong classroom management and the ability to foster a love of reading and writing, are vital.
