The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, proven management experience and the confidence to operate at a senior level within a complex and evolving organisation.

Key Requirements

• Strong management and leadership experience, with the ability to lead, develop and motivate a high–performing team.
• Significant experience across financial reporting, technical accounting, audit and regulatory returns.
• Strong tax experience, including VAT and corporation tax.
• Confident working with senior stakeholders, auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Experience within a large, complex organisation; education, public sector or not–for–profit experience would be advantageous.

Role Highlights

• Lead and develop the financial reporting team, shaping its future direction and supporting wider Finance Department objectives.
• Oversee financial accounting, balance sheet control, statutory reporting and year–end processes.
• Manage external audit and key tax compliance requirements.
• Drive process improvements and contribute to finance strategy, policy and planning.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, providing insight and supporting effective decision–making.
