Job Description

Aramark UK are currently looking for a Food Service Assistant to join our team working with our prestigious corporate client, who have six sites spanning across London, Bournemouth, Dublin, Edinburgh, and Luxemburg. Our client, a global financial institution with roots tracing back to 1799, is built on a core principle of delivering exceptional client service - and that’s exactly what we expect from you!

In addition, you’ll play a key role in the exciting reopening of our newly refurbished site. You will help ensure the transition into the brand new space is seamless, operationally strong, and reflective of the exceptional service culture we are committed to delivering.

The role is subject to client vetting.

A day in the life of a Food Service Assistant:

  • Operate the till, handle payments, and manage customer transactions efficiently.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
  • Restock supplies such as cups, milk, pastries, and coffee beans.
  • Support the team during busy periods, ensuring smooth workflow and quick service.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stock checks, and equipment shutdown.
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages to a high standard, including espresso based drinks.
  • Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers warmly and taking orders accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, seating area, and equipment throughout the shift.

You will be set up for success if you have:

  • Strong customer service skills with a positive, welcoming attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy periods while maintaining quality.
  • Good communication skills and a team player mindset.
  • Attention to detail, especially when preparing drinks.
  • Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and till operations.
  • Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn about coffee, equipment, and shop procedures.
  • Previous barista or hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential (training can be provided).
