Location: Putney, Wandsworth
Role: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am–16:00pm
Salary: £500–£600 per week

Who We’re Looking For
The ideal English Graduate Teaching Assistant will have:
- A 2:1 or higher in English Literature, English Language, or a related subject
- A genuine passion for English and for sharing that passion with young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, empathetic, and resilient attitude
- An interest in progressing into teacher training or a long-term career in education
- Some experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
The Role
As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Provide 1:1 and small group academic support in reading, writing, and analysis
- Contribute meaningfully to both academic outcomes and creative enrichment
- Assist with classroom organisation, lesson preparation, and behaviour management
- Encourage pupils to explore creative outlets such as reading, debating, and writing clubs
- Contribute to wider school life through enrichment activities and mentoring
- Partake in training, CPD, and mentoring from experienced English teachers
This role is the perfect stepping stone into teaching. You will gain invaluable experience in the classroom, learning how to support pupils effectively while observing excellent practice. As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will see first-hand what great teaching looks like, giving you the confidence and knowledge to consider your own pathway into teacher training.
