Visual Project Coordinator
Paul Smith is one of Britain’s leading independent design companies. We champion positivity, curiosity and creativity. These qualities underpin every Paul Smith design, whether it’s a shirt, a shop or a special collaboration. Reaffirming the values that Paul set down in 1970, ‘classic with a twist’ remains the guiding principle of the company. Happily positioned between high fashion and formalwear, while taking reference from both, Paul Smith has always been proud to stand apart.
We have a rare opportunity for a Visual Project Coordinator to join our global Display team on a maternity cover contract. Working alongside the Senior Window Designer & Window Stylist, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate, execute and bring to life designs for our shop windows that form the blueprint for our global Display team.
The Role:
- Coordinate and plan the installation of monthly window concepts, ensuring that they meet set deadlines, are on budget and are executed to a high standard.
- Research and order all display & visual merchandising materials, including mannequins and window props, and maintain strong working relationships with external suppliers.
- Oversee the UK Visual Merchandising & Display critical path and budget and keep the Global Head of VM & Display regularly updated.
- Liaise with the Buying and Merchandising teams to ensure key products are in store for window installations.
- Schedule the window installations and keep the shops informed of visits and plans in a timely manner.
- Be the first point of contact for all matters relating to the UK windows and displays and set the blueprint for the global Display team.
- Attend department meetings and lead when necessary for matters that relate to window displays.
- Collaborate with the wider Visual Merchandising team on new ideas, carry out competitor research and keep up to date with new trends.
- Manage the Purchase Orders process and monitor costs, always working to the most cost-effective solution.
- Manage the storage space in the London head office, categorise props for future use and find ways to responsibly recycle old props in line with the company’s sustainability statement.
Your Skills and Experience
- Highly proficient experience of display or visual merchandising work in a luxury or high-end retail environment.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
- Competent user of Illustrator, Photoshop, Word and Excel.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Experience designing and creating props and installations would be a plus.
About You
- Highly creative, with excellent attention to detail and appreciation of colour and imagery.
- Proactive, helpful and approachable.
- A wide interest in fashion, culture, music, literature and the arts.
- Passionate about the Paul Smith brand.
- Able to work flexible hours.
What's in it for you:
