About the Role
As a Site Assistant, you will support the maintenance, security, and day-to-day operation of the school site. This role is hands-on and varied, offering opportunities to work both independently and as part of a dedicated site team.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the upkeep and cleanliness of the school premises
Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks across the site
Assisting with security, including opening and locking buildings, monitoring access, and ensuring safety protocols are followed
Setting up classrooms, halls, and facilities for events, meetings, and extra-curricular activities
Assisting contractors and monitoring work carried out on the premises
Supporting health and safety compliance and reporting risks promptly
Maintaining outdoor areas, grounds, and communal spaces
Providing practical assistance during school events, trips, or emergencies
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience in site management, caretaking, or facilities support
Be practical, proactive, and capable of problem-solving independently
Demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail
Have a clear understanding of health and safety procedures
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Be flexible and able to respond to urgent site issues quickly
Experience within a school environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where needed.
